TRANSPARENT AWARENESS · EN

Existence

Without Approval

Why do I seek validation from others?

A thing happened, even if no one saw it.

Read that sentence once more. Because for the modern human, this is no longer
self-evident. We have quietly learned something: if something wasn't shared,
it didn't fully happen. If the photo wasn't taken, the moment faded a little.
If it wasn't spoken, the feeling stayed slightly imaginary. If it wasn't liked,
the idea lost a little of its worth. The unshared act began to feel like an
incomplete act. As if reality only becomes whole once it loads on someone else's
screen.

This is an inversion. And it happened so slowly, so silently, that most of us
never noticed when we turned.

Being seen can be a consequence of an act. It can never be its measure.

A tree falls even when no one is watching. A thought is true even when no one
reads it. A love is real even when no one knows it. Existence does not seek
witness — witness follows existence. Or it doesn't. That is not existence's
responsibility.

But we forgot this. Or perhaps we never fully learned it. Because from childhood,
every good thing was met with a response: applause, grades, rewards, likes.
These responses, arriving so quickly after the doing, gradually became the reason
for the doing. The means became the end. And without noticing, we moved the source
of value out of ourselves and handed it to someone else.

Approval transfers value outward.

It takes the decision — "this was good" — away from you and gives it to another.
And another always calculates differently — with their own fears, their own
exhaustion, their own blind spots. Sometimes they see you, sometimes they don't.
Sometimes they understand, sometimes they simply don't have the inner space to.
Sometimes they're not evaluating you at all — they're evaluating whatever they
happen to be carrying that day.

And you begin to mistake their calculation for your own truth.

This is a slow erosion. The most refined way of drifting from yourself. No one
forced you. No one stole anything. You simply delegated the judgment of value,
more and more, to the outside. And one morning you woke up and realized you no
longer feel from within what is good and what isn't. You learn it from outside.
Everything.

To act in silence is to refuse this transfer.

Silence here is not defeat. It is not surrender. It is, in fact, the highest form
of self-trust. It is saying: what I did had worth before anyone noticed. It will
have worth after. The time in between, the gap, the silence — none of it changes
the value.

Some things are done not to be noticed, but because they need to be done. This
distinction seems small but it determines the course of a human life. Because in
the first case, the outside directs you. In the second, the inside does. In the
first, the signal to stop comes from others. In the second, you decide — to stop,
or to continue. In the first, meaning is born with the reaction and dies with it.
In the second, meaning is already there, quietly continuing to exist.

Throughout history, the most enduring things usually began without approval.

Written in a basement. Found in a village. Rejected for years. Understood after
death. You might say they survived not because they were valuable, but that they
were called valuable because they survived. But that too is wrong. What survived
was what carried an inner necessity. It came not from those who waited for
approval, but from those who felt compelled to make it.

Because those who wait for approval stop when approval doesn't come.
Those who carry necessity continue — even when no one is watching.

And that is why it lasts.

Existence needs no approval — because approval is temporary, and existence is not.

Likes get deleted. Platforms shut down. Crowds disperse. Memories fade. But the
thing that was done, happened in the moment it was done. That moment cannot be
undone. The reality of that moment does not change based on how many people
noticed it afterward.

Being seen can be beautiful. Humans are social beings — they connect, they share,
they want to be known. These are natural things. But not being seen breaks nothing.
It steals no value. It extinguishes no meaning.

What you did was complete the moment you did it.

The rest is silence.

And silence is not absence.

Silence is sometimes the most honest witness of all.
